Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here!

I’m Alima Blackwell, the face behind “Raven’s Nest Photography.” The name is actually derived from my maiden name (which was Ravenscroft and means "bird's nest"). Since I feel like I acquired most of my creativity from the Ravenscrofts, who are musicians, actors, and painters, I wanted to incorporate that name into my photography somehow.

I am a boy-mom, firefighter wife, wine lover, traveler, tennis player, reader of psychological thrillers, and reality show watcher. I am a fiercely loyal and passionate person who loves deeply.

I am originally from Seattle, but grew up all over the U.S. and abroad (Malaysia, France & Australia). All that moving taught me a lot about myself: how much I love to meet new people, connect on a deeper level, and bring joy to others. My husband and I met in 2003 and instantly connected over our love for traveling and living abroad.

Before becoming a full-time photographer, I was as an elementary teacher and children’s hospital volunteer. My son and I have been volunteering together at an assisted living home. Giving him an opportunity to show his love and compassion for others and sharing this with him, has been an incredible experience.

Happily serving Evergreen, Denver & surrounding areas.
